This dark green handpainted vase is made my Elena Felipe and Bernadina Rivera. This vase is perfect for flowers or as an accent piece on any bookshelf. The piece is 8” tall with a diameter of 4” in diameter at the opening. Felipe and Rivera are Purepecha potters from Huancito, Michoacan. The two sisters-in-law learned the craft when they were young and have been practicing their art for decades. They procure the clay for these vases in their native region, and then use molds to craft the shapes. After being fired in an oven, the pieces are handpainted with nature motifs, such as birds, leaves, and flowers. The pots that they create are water containers that originated in the colonial era.
Please note that all ceramic pieces are final sale and not eligible for return.
