DETAILS
Each 16 x 16 embroidered piece of fabric is a one-of-a-kind creation done by our amazing artisans. Each artisan was invited to create a design that held personal significance and inspiration for them while sharing a heartfelt note about the story behind their artwork. This is what the creator, Maria Ariaz, wrote about her piece:
“This grasshopper I drew is one I saw jumping in the grass. I found the snail one day on the path. The duck I embroidered is like the one I have at home that knows how to swim. The ant always bites me when I go out to check on my sheep. The frog comes hopping along the path. This bird always comes singing at five in the morning to wake me up. These flowers are the ones I see when I walk through the fields. I have this avocado tree planted at home. I have ten banana trees on my land. And this mouse always comes to steal corn.”
